Co-founders of Dare to Wear Love: Chris Tyrell and Jim Searle from Hoax Couture
As a beautiful closing to World MasterCard Fashion Week in Toronto on March 22, the annual Dare to Wear Love Gala put on a show not to be forgotten. With 25 top Canadian designers, celebrity guests strutting it on the runway, beautiful models, talented musicians & dancers, magical poetry, and over 200 guests in attendance–there wasn’t a dull moment! It was an amazing spectacle to watch and all proceeds benefited the Stephen Lewis Foundation in their fight against AIDS in sub-Saharan Africa. The entire evening was uplifting and every moment was memorable–especially the empowering words from dub poet D’Bi Young who spoke of a “LOVE-OLUTION.” To hear the passion and strength in her voice as well as her conviction for love was something that touched everyone in the audience.
“I dare to wear love, love, love… exposing my secret desire to inspire you and i to love deep, to love hard, to love sweet… are you ready to Dare to Wear Love?”
And the theme of the 2013 Dare to Wear Love Gala? FLOWER POWER! Take a look below at all the pictures from the evening and what the talented designers created for this special night…
