Day 1 of World MasterCard Fashion Week Toronto

WMCFW

Yesterday, throngs of well-dressed fashionistas, media, and celebs gathered for the kick-off of World MasterCard Fashion Week in Toronto with the following fab designers: MIZ by Izzy Camilleri, Chloe comme Parris, Pink Tartan, and BUSTLEMIZ by Izzy Camilleri showcased a collection that was a ready-to-wear sleek designs for the stylish, mature, and sophisticated woman. Chloe comme Parris showcased their custom prints, hardware, textiles, and statement jewelry – brought together in a sort of “haute grunge” look. Pink Tartan embraced their reputation for simplistic elegance using Constance Langdon and Marnie Edgar as blonde muses for a style affair with the 60s. Last, BUSTLE‘s “Royal Rebel” Collection was saturated in rich colors, luxe fabrics, and fearless prints as they demonstrated Britain’s Bad Boys at their best.

Below take a look at some of my favorites from the Pink Tartan Runway–lots of furs, geometric prints, and statement colors are in store for FW 2013! All photos courtesy of George Pimentel.

Meanwhile backstage, Redken was showcasing the Bohemian Grunge trend from Chloe Comme Parris for FW 13/14, calling it a natural flow with a bit of attitude!

 To get this look:
1. Add texture and grit to the hair and then wrap dry to create natural flow. Redken products recommended: Fabricate 03 followed by Guts 10.
2. Create a french braid with the entire left side of the head and then turn it into a long pony tail.
3. Once braid is formed, pull on the strands to create loops, (this is to add character). Next, take two small sections of hair to fall over the French braid and from those sections create two small braids so that they fall over the French braid (still following?).
4. Use a piece of the fringe (aks loose hair) to incorporate into a braid at the right side of the head, and this will keep the hair away from the face. Create two more small braids going around the head.
5. At the back of the head pull sections and spiral wrap with a 1″ curling iron. Recommended to finish with Redken’s Control Addict 28.
What do you think of this hair trend? If anyone attempts this look we’d love to see it! Please email info@everything-beautiful.com 🙂
