Essential Beauty 101


  1. Face–beautiful skin is essential to looking your best. Your face is the focal point of any interaction and clear, smooth skin is key to radiance.  For that healthy natural glow a few things are important. First–drink plenty of water a day. It helps to remove toxins and prevents break-outs from occurring by allowing any toxic products to exit the body faster as opposed to showing up as an unsightly blemish. Next, follow a beauty regime that includes a good facial cleanser, toner, and moisturizer. These products offer your skin regular rejuvenation and balances any natural oils. It is also been shown that a topical application of vitamin C will increase collagen production. Also, it is a good idea to exfoliate once a week to rid the face of dead skin cells. Even further, a monthly trip to your esthetician for some microdermabrasion and a deep cleansing facial may give your skin the extra boost it needs to shine. Last, a tinted moisturizer can serve as an instant boost giving you a fresh, sun-kissed appearance. Followed up by a light application of sheer foundation and a brush of bronzer to contour your nose & cheekbones, and you’re already glowing!
  2. Hair– such a major aspect to one’s beauty that it should be given due attention. Using an organic shampoo and conditioner is definitely gaining popularity as they have several beautifying properties including natural extracts, more vitamins, increased hair growth, removal of product build-up and toxins as well as the absence of chemical additives. They also contain wonderful extracts that leave your hair smelling beautiful and fresh. Next, it is important to take time to style your hair,whatever your look is–sleek, volumized, pinned up, tussled, or even extensions–make it count.
  3. Nails–manicures and pedicures! A part of one’s proper hygiene is the maintenance of hands and toes. Clean up your cuticles, file & shape your nails, apply some vitamin E to nourish and strengthen, buff, shine, and polish! Nothing can be more distracting in an innuendo than ill-maintained hands and feet. These features are extensions of your look that can leave you feeling enhanced or embarrassed. Take the extra time to make sure your manicure is always shining.
  4. Body–exercise, strengthen and tone! Working out is a look-good, feel-good essential leaving you tight, toned, and happier.  Not only will you fit into your skinny jeans, your enhanced muscle definition will be accompanied by beautiful skin, healthier hair, and brighter eyes. Thanks to the increased blood circulation that a good workout provides you get to maximize on an array of health and beauty benefits.

  5. Diet–a well balanced diet is also fundamental to a beautiful appearance. It can keep you looking younger, healthier, and control your weight as the food you ingest affects your metabolism. Keep away from starchy foods, sugar, preservatives, processed foods,hydrogenated oils, white/bleached flour, as well as carbonated beverages. Opting for a glass of water will go a long way for both your weight and your overall appearance. Keep your meals light and nutrient rich–lots of green, leafy vegetables, omega 3 fats, complex carbohydrates and fresh fruit. Your body will thank you by adding to your radiance.
  6. Vitamins–getting your proper daily dose of vitamins will give your body the platform it needs to function and shine from the inside out. Your skin is the only organ that directly reflects your inner health. Thus, if you stay healthy within, you’ll be pleased with what you see on the exterior. However, vitamins cannot replace an unhealthy diet, they must go together! For beauty, an intake of vitamins A, C, and E, as well as a dose of antioxidants will protect against free radicals and boost collagen production.
  7. Style–Lets face it– a tall pair of heels, designer bag, chic sunglasses and an outfit to flatter your figure goes a long way! Don’t be afraid to splurge on a few of these signature items as they are sure head turners. A pair of Christian Louboutins, an over-sized Gucci bag, dark Bvlgari glasses and you are well on your way to dazzling.
  8. Bronze up–a tan is an absolute must! Whatever you are sporting will look 10x as flattering if you have the sun-kissed look to match. Don’t overdo it though–too much tanning ages the skin. Try a light spray tan for a flawless look.
  9. Posture–so your skin looks great, your hair is volumous and shiny, your hands and feet are wearing their signature colour, you have achieved a beautiful physique, your healthy, you’ve got the wardrobe and are all bronzed up. Now you walk into a room and your unnoticed because?? No slouching. Keep your head up high and spine straight. Your confidence and energy will ooze out making you nothing short of fabulous.
  10. Smile–make sure it’s white, bright, and don’t be afraid to flash it! After all, it’s part of your charm factor–something that every woman needs no matter how beautiful.
