Kate Beckinsale looked stunning at the London Premiere of “Total Recall” last night. Her soft look was elegant and flawless. AND celebrity makeup artist Molly Stern shared the details of how she created Kate’s look for the event!
Molly prepped Kate’s face with RéVive Intensité Moisture Serum Extrême, $350 to give her skin a deep flash of moisture and to create a supple surface.
It’s ALWAYS important to moisturize before you apply makeup to ensure a smoother look. The last thing you want is for your foundation to “cake” on or crack with your expressions. I realize that this moisturizer is a bit STEEP in price so there are other great alternatives of course.
To ensure a dazzling glow for the night, she then applied Laura Mercier Foundation Primer Radiance, $32.
Prime, prime, prime! This ups your smooth skin quotient. You want your makeup to go on nicely, not forcibly.
Next, Molly highlighted the apples of Kate’s cheeks and cheek bones with Laura Mercier Shimmer Bloc in Pink Tourmaline, $38 to give Kate extra brightness.
I always LOVE these 4 quadrant color palettes. This one in particular is such a beautiful mix to brighten natural beauty, delicately highlighting cheekbones without any harsh pop of color.
And before Kate left the door, Molly dusted her entire complexion with Laura Mercier Bronzing Pressed Powder in Matte Bronze, $32 to guarantee she had a rich, summer kissed glow at the premiere.
Matte bronzer is a must have–you may not want to have shimmer all over your face so this is a perfect bronze companion to have.
To create Kate’s flawless lips, Molly first filled in her entire pout with Laura Mercier Lip Pencil in Baby Lips, $20.
A very lovely nude shade, just a hint darker than Kate’s lips to lightly outline them.
She topped it off with Laura Mercier Lip Glace in Sparkling, $24.
A touch of gloss adds a youthful shimmer to your pout!
Molly prepped the eyelid and brow bone with Laura Mercier Eye Basics in Peach, $24.
Just like it’s important to prime your skin before applying foundation, it’s important to prime your eyelids before adding some color. Since it has a tint of coverage it will even out the skin tone around your eye giving you an even palette to work with.
Next, she used a blend of Laura Mercier Baked Eye Colour in Black Karat, $22 and Laura Mercier Baked Eye Colour in Terracotta, $22 for the base and then smudged more of the Baked Eye Colour in Terracotta underneath her eye to soften the existing line.
She finished off her lashes with two coats of Laura Mercier Full Blown Volume Lash Building Mascara, $24.
Always use two coats 🙂
