This spring is all about graphic statement tees, bright pops of color, transitional pieces from daytime casual to evening fun, chambray, denim, polka dots, stripes, rompers, the infamous high-low cut tops, and more. Here are some of my favorite picks from the Smart Set Spring/Summer 2014 Lookbook.
Paired with just about any tight bottom–light ripped jeans, white pencil pants, or short shorts–a statement tee adds that stylish flair to your ensemble while balancing it with more loose comfort on top. You can also make the look more dressy by throwing a fitted blazer over top.
The trend that will be back every season–an article of denim is an essential wardrobe piece. Whether you’re up for rocking the Canadian Tuxedo, wearing a classic jean pant, blazer or even vest, denim is a great for those casual chic days.
What is Spring without color? I adore brights this time a year and am obsessed with their eye-catching appeal. Don’t be too loud with it however, balance is always key!
In summer, I say its great to have at least one of everything in white. It’s classic and goes with everything, making it very easy to pair and extremely chic.
Stripes, florals, polka-dots, and geometric prints are fun and great to have if you’re looking to have a focal point to your ensemble. The focus on black and white for each print below is extremely wearable albeit trendy.
Big bejeweled necklaces are perfect to wear over that simple tank, taking your outfit from drab to fab in seconds. I love the turquoise/crystal half-flowers and layered necklaces below. Not to mention the perfect cross-body bag.
